Teachers involvement is optional but highly valuable. You help create a safe, supportive environment where students can explore technology confidently. Your guidance boosts their learning, motivation, and success, making the hub a thriving community.
Here’s what you need to know to support your KBI hub effectively without feeling overwhelmed:
Spend about 1–2 hours per month advising and supporting the student team
Your role is to guide, encourage, and ensure the hub follows KBI’s rules and safety protocols
Act as a mentor and advisor, helping students stay on track and solve problems
Help ensure projects and activities comply with safety and ethical standards (e.g., liability waivers, data privacy)
Provide a link between the hub and the school for resources or support
Encourage students to develop skills like teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving
Access KBI training sessions designed to prepare you for your role
Earn certificates recognizing your contribution and professional development
Receive ongoing support from KBI coordinators whenever you need help
KBI provides clear safety protocols and liability waivers to protect you and the students
You are not expected to supervise every detail but to ensure the hub operates responsibly and safely
